We come as neighbors—young and old, joyful and grieving.
God calls us beloved and sends us to love.
Let us worship the God who brings life out of lament.

God of mercy and life, we confess that we do not always know what to do with sorrow. We rush past grief, we silence pain that makes us uncomfortable, and we turn away from neighbors whose suffering feels too heavy to hold. We confess that we sometimes lament without acting, and believe without showing, forgetting that love is meant to be lived out loud. Forgive us, O God. Meet us in the depths, breathe new life into our dry bones, and teach us again how to love— with courage, with tenderness, and with hope. We pray in the name of Jesus, who wept with friends and called forth new life.
