Merciful God, we often do not know how to love our neighbors and ourselves as we ought to do. We do not know how to be fully present with you, with ourselves, and with others. We dismiss and suppress our own emotions and those of our neighbors. We frequently have compassion for our neighbors and lack compassion for ourselves.

We forget that emotions are part of being human and that feeling our emotions can be beneficial both for our health and in our relationship with you. 

In your mercy, forgive us. Guide us to be present and lead us in healthy ways of working with our emotions. Help us to be more of who you call us to be every day.
